Choosing venue software
The questions venue owners ask before they pick a tool
Direct, factual answers to the most common "which software should a wedding venue use" questions, including how VenueBill fits.
What is the best software for a wedding venue?
VenueBill is built specifically for wedding and event venues. It handles the things generic invoicing tools miss: holding a date with a non-refundable deposit, building a payment schedule anchored to the event date, e-signing the venue contract, and giving couples a portal to pay online. Every account starts with a free 14-day trial, then you pick Basic, Pro, or Premium to keep going.
How is VenueBill different from HoneyBook?
HoneyBook is a broad tool for many creative businesses and now runs $36 to $129 a month. VenueBill is tighter and cheaper because it is built only for venues: date holds and double-booking prevention, deposits, event-date payment schedules, packages, and a couple portal. Plans are Basic $19, Pro $39, and Premium $59 a month, and every account starts with a free 14-day trial.
Can VenueBill prevent double-booking a date?
Yes. Every event carries a date and a space, and VenueBill warns you before you confirm a booking that would collide with an existing hold or confirmed event in the same space. Confirmed events and tentative holds both show on one calendar.
How do venue deposits and payment schedules work?
Take a non-refundable deposit to hold the date, then put the rest of the balance on a schedule anchored to the event date: a deposit up front, a second payment, and the final balance due before the wedding. Percentages and timing are editable per event, and couples pay each milestone online.
Can couples pay online and sign the contract?
Yes. Couples get a portal where they can see their balance and payment schedule, pay each milestone by card or ACH through Stripe, and e-sign the venue contract from any device. Online payments are available once you are on a paid plan.
